LOOP: Adaptive Portable NPWT Device

LOOP is a next-generation portable negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) device engineered for both inpatient and outpatient wound care. Measuring just 95 × 70 × 30 mm and weighing approximately 220 g, LOOP combines a reusable platform with intelligent therapy logic. The device supports Continuous, Variable, and Adaptive therapy modes across a 30–150 mmHg pressure range, with a peristaltic pump for precise instillation. Its Adaptive Mode autonomously transitions between therapy types based on real-time exudate-flow analysis — without clinician interruption. The LOOP EYE module monitors exudate color and flow before canister entry, enabling early bleeding alerts and supporting adaptive decisions. Built-in treatment management tracks dressing changes, canister status, alarms, and mode transitions. USB-C fast charging and up to 12 hours battery life support continuous use. A Bluetooth-ready architecture connects the device to patient and clinician apps for remote monitoring. Alpha Teknoloji engineered the full hardware platform including custom PCB, embedded firmware, pump algorithms, dual-pressure-sensor safety logic, and touchscreen UI.
What We Did
Designed and developed a portable, reusable negative pressure wound therapy platform with adaptive therapy logic, LOOP EYE exudate-aware sensing, dual digital pressure sensors, a 2.8-inch touchscreen UI, Bluetooth connectivity, and EMC/LVD compliance support.
Impact
Enabled hospital-to-home wound care continuity with autonomous therapy adaptation, early bleeding detection via LOOP EYE, and a scalable remote monitoring architecture — all within a sub-$100 production cost target.
